Milwaukee's sluggish 7-8 start had Brewer fans wondering if their 91-71 record, just a year ago, was
nothing but a fluke. But skipper George Bamberger had the Crew ready for a twin bill vs. Detroit today. The Brewers racked up 26 hits, including 6 homer runs, to take the Tiggers 7-1, 9-4 in the double dip. Ben Oglivie hit 2 home runs (4th and 5th of the season) in the series including a 5th inning grand slam in the first game. Ron LeFlore went 5 for 9 for Detroit in the losing effort. The wins push the Crew past .500 with a 9-8 overall record. Detroit falls to 9-4.
