ST. LOUIS -- Don Wilson (4-0) kept his record spotless with a CG 10-1 victory over St. Louis. Lee May (4) and Bob Watson (1) led the Astros offense with multiple hits, including a HR each.
May 10, 1972
St. LOUIS -- Bob Gibson (4-2) fired 8 innings to earn a 4-2 Redbirds victory. Ted Simmons led the offense with 2 hits and 2 runs scored. Moe Drabowsky (2) grabbed the save.
May 11, 1972
ST. LOUIS -- Roger Metzger's throwing error allowed Lou Brock to race home from 2nd in the B9 as St. Louis takes the rubber game, 6-5. Brock had led off with a bunt that was fumbled by pitcher Jim Ray (0-1) for an error. He promptly stole his 10th base of the year. The Stros' Johnny Edwards (1) had dramatically tied the game at 5-5 in the T8 with a 3-run blast. Rick Wise (4-0) remained perfect on the year with a CG performance.
