CHICAGO -- Wilbur Wood (8-7) used his knuckler to fan 10 Brewers in a CG, 5-3 victory for the White Sox. Wood helped himself with the bat with a 2-run RBI single in the 2nd. The "Boomer" George Scott (6) provided a pair of Miwaukee's runs with a long one in the 6th.
June 10, 1972
CHICAGO -- Dick Allen (12) led the ChiSox to an 8-2 win with a homer and 2 RBI with his 3 hits. Carlos May (4) also went yard. Starting and winning pitcher Tom Bradley (6-6) aided himself with 2 suicide squeeze bunts to plate runs. Joe Lahoud (6) accounting for 1 of the Brew Crew runs with a solo shot in the 2nd. Ken Brett (5-5) started and lost for the visitors.
June 11, 1972 (Game #1)
CHICAGO -- Ed Herrmann collected the only two hits of the game for the home club as Jim Lonborg (4-3) blanked the Sox the rest of the way in an 8-0 Milwaukee win. The Brewers hit Pale Hose starter Stan Bahnsen (2-7) with 7 runs on 7 hit in the 2nd inning, and that was easily all that was needed. Johnny Briggs led Crew hitters with 3 safeties.
June 11, 1972 (Game #2)
CHICAGO -- Carlos May (5) homered and drove in 4 runs to power the White Sox to a 6-2 win, earning a split in the double dip and 3-1 series victory. Dave Lemonds (1-1) was superb on the hill, tossing 7 innings of 4-hit, 1-run ball.
