Game 1 – Rusty Staub
and Jason Thompson hit back-to-back
solo shots in the 1st for the Tigers and they didn’t stop there.
Eleven runs and 21 hits later, Jack
Billingham (9-12) finished off an 11-3 win. Staub ended with 4 hits and 3 RBI.
Game 2 – Steve Kemp
doubled with the bases loaded in the 10th. His shot off the wall
cleared the bases. The Tigers would need all three as Chicago
rallied with a pair in the B10. Jim
Slaton (8-13) pulled the iron-man, 10-inning complete game.
Game 3 – Dave Rozema
(9-6) made in 3 complete games in a row as Detroit
hammers Chicago 8-1. Alan Trammell homered for 1 of his 3
hits and 3 RBI. Ralph Garr smashed 4 hits for the ChiSox.
