Phillies sweep away Cubs

Game 1: Philadelphia 4 Chicago 1
W: Ruthven (2-0)  L: Roberts (2-6)
A complete game 5 hit performance by Dick Ruthven was backed up with 2 first inning homeruns by Jerry Martin and Mike Schmidt.

Game 2: Philadelphia 5 Chicago 2
W: McGraw (2-0)  L: Sutter (3-3)
Tim McCarver hit a pinch hit 3 run homer in the bottom of the 9th to win it for the Phils.

Game 3: Philadelphia 9 Chicago 1
W: Kaat (6-3)  L: Holtzman (0-1)
Phillies scored all of their runs in the first 2 innings.  Bob Boone was the batting star with 3 hits and 3 RBIs.

Game 4: Philadelphia 4 Chicago 2
W: Christenson (7-4)  L: Reuschel (8-7)
Larry Christenson was the star of the game pitching a complete game 5 hitter and tagging a grand slam in the 5th to account for all of Philadelphia's runs.
