ST. LOUIS -- PH Bob Burda singled in Bob Stinson in the 7th to lift St. Louis to a 2-1 victory. Moe Drabowsky (6-0) won again in relief. Bob Moose (4-3) took the loss. Bill Mazeroski (1) homered in the 6th for the Pirates lone run.

ST. LOUIS -- Joe Torre (12) blasted a 3-run homer off Dave Guisti (4-5) in the B10th to power the Redbirds to a 7-5 victory. Chuck Taylor (3-0) earned the win, despite yielding a solo shot to Willie Stargell (3 hits) in the top of the frame. Stargell (27,28) cracked two long ones and drove in 4 of the Bucs 5 tallies. Torre finished with a 5-2-4-3 line.
