Les Expos Level Les Astros

The Astros, overmatched offensively against the powerful Montreal team, manage to take one of three in a series marked by two well-pitched games. Houston drops  again to .500 at 11-11, while Les Grand Expos continue to make their opponents look like "Les Miserables," moving to 12-7 for April while vying for first place.

Game 1: Mon 2, Hou 1
W: Grimsley (3-1)
L: Niekro (1-3).

Ross Grimsley's hair alone would stun the opposition.
The hirsute Ross Grimsley ends the month with a 2.06 ERA with a CG three-hitter over an equally sharp Joe Niekro. Warren Cromartie's eighth inning base hit breaks the 1-1 tie. Andre Dawson finds the Astrodome centerfield seats with a 413-foot homer (3).

Game 2: Hou 3, Mon 1
W: Andujar (4-0)
L: Rogers (3-1)

Two hot pitchers go at it, and the eccentric Joaquin Andujar comes out the winner over Steve Rogers, with a quiet five-hitter, only one walk to go with six Ks, and a great 82 GameScore.

Game 3: Mon 6, Hou 3
W: May (4-1)
L: Lemongello (2-3)

Aging vet Rudy May continues his sharp season, holding the 'Stros to one run until the ninth. A three-run blast from Ellis Valentine (3) to go with five RBIs stings the erratic Mark Lemongello.
